Critical Thinking and Media Literacy
Developing Critical Thinking and Media Literacy Skills
In today’s world, we receive information from many sources: television, social media, newspapers, and websites. Not all of this information is true or reliable. Critical thinking is the ability to analyze, evaluate, and question information before accepting it as the truth. Media literacy is the skill of understanding how media messages are created, who creates them, and for what purpose.
For this activity, I reflected on the importance of these skills in my personal and professional life. In my work, I often receive information from different people and sources. I must evaluate its accuracy before making decisions. In my academic life, I use critical thinking when researching, selecting trustworthy references, and avoiding plagiarism.
Developing critical thinking and media literacy helps me protect myself from misinformation, make informed decisions, and contribute positively to my community. I believe that in the digital age, these skills are essential for everyone
